How to Program Buttons on a Yealink EXP50 Expansion Module
The Yealink EXP50 is an expansion module that adds extra programmable keys to your Yealink desk phone. These keys can be set for features such as speed dial, busy lamp field (BLF), call forwarding, or other phone functions. You can program these keys directly from the module without using the phone’s web interface.
Steps to Program a Button
1. Access the EXP50 Key Settings

Press and hold the button on the EXP50 that you want to program.

Hold it until the “Program Key” menu appears on the phone’s screen.

2. Choose the Key Type

Use the navigation keys on your phone to scroll through the available key types.

Common key types include:

Speed Dial – Call a contact with one button press.

BLF (Busy Lamp Field) – Monitor another extension’s status (idle, ringing, busy).

Call Forward – Forward calls quickly to another number.

Transfer – Transfer calls to a saved number.

Line – Assign another phone line.

Highlight the option you want, then press OK.
3. Enter the Key Information

Depending on the key type you selected, enter the required details:

Speed Dial / BLF – Enter the phone number or extension.

Label – Type the name you want to appear on the EXP50 screen (e.g., “John” or “Support”).

Line (if required) – Select the line to associate with the key.

Use the phone’s keypad to type numbers or names.
4. Save the Key

After entering the details, press Save (soft key under the screen).

The button will now show the label you entered on the EXP50 display.
5. Test the Button

Press the programmed button to confirm it works as expected:

A Speed Dial button should place a call.

A BLF button should light up to show the extension’s status.

A Call Forward button should activate forwarding.
